How do I remove burn marks from an induction hob?

How do I remove burn marks from an induction hob?

Induction or glass-ceramic hobs are an extremely practical way of cooking, because of the speed and uniformity of the heat they provide. What's the difference between the two? Ceramic glass heats up more slowly than induction, which heats up instantaneously, but both coatings can be cleaned in the same way. Induction hobs are easy to maintain, as long as you take care to follow a few instructions, as they are still quite fragile. How can I remove a burn mark from a hob without damaging it?

remove burn marks from an induction hob

Use specialised products to remove burn marks from induction hobs.

Many stains accumulate when cooking food, but the most difficult to remove are burn marks. Because it's shiny, the hob gets dirty quickly. And between cooking sessions, the stains are extremely visible. To stay beautiful, your hob surfaces must sparkle and not be scratched!

Every surface has its own maintenance solution, and induction hobs are no exception. Stains are easily removed with the right products.

Clean your induction hob with a squeegee or specialised scraper

Before placing a product on the hob, they must be allowed to cool down to at least lukewarm, to avoid accidents!

Your induction hob may come with an iron spatula with a special scraper to remove dirt without scratching the surface. Don't panic, if you don't have one, these scrapers are easy to find in the shops. Alternatively, you can use a wooden spatula: the main thing is not to use a tool that could scratch the glass.

Natural solutions for cleaning your glass-ceramic hob

There are also a large number of natural products and tips for prolonging the aesthetic life of a hob and cleaning an induction or glass ceramic hob.

You can use black soap, white vinegar combined with washing-up liquid, clay-based cleaning products, or bicarbonate of soda, all of which are very effective.

Be careful never to use abrasive, chemical or non-specific products, as they can cause permanent damage to your hob! Be sure to use a non-scratching sponge, lather well, rinse and then wipe with a lint-free cloth. Microfibre cloths are ideal, as they leave the hob shiny after cleaning.
